My little sister sent me this message in response to an email thread between me and mom’s friend from her church:

As far as I know and if all goes as planned, Mom is moving into The Park tomorrow. I just faxed the lease to them tonight and [redacted] offered to sign for the supplemental income.
I was thinking you can send me all the bills, info, contacts, codes, passwords, other crap, etc., and I can start dealing with Mom’s creditors and debts. You are under enough stress, and I would rather you be able to just enjoy Mom as a mom and as your baby’s nana without ever having to discuss finances with her again. I think it is too much baggage between you and Mom to have. I don’t know how often she tells you she thinks I hate her, but she frequently tells me she thinks you hate her. I know you don’t, but I think it might be easier for her to deal with me. I may not be a financial wizard, but I think I can handle it. Not just for Mom but for you too. When you want to know what is going on with her money, you can talk to me, and I can ask for your help as needed.
I am staying at [redacted]
Love you.
Of course I didn’t hate my mother, and the idea that she would ever say that to my little sister is unbearable still.
