I wanted to let you know that I created an account for you on the website I administer for my mother, http://kathiegagne.com/
The site is private because my previous attorney was concerned that potential defendants in any case I might bring would use the information in it against my mother. You should have received an email with a username and a password so you can access the website. In it I have detailed every phone call, email, conversation, visit, etc. relating to my mother for the last year or two, including odds and ends of history.
My goal is to one day allow my son, her first and only grandson, to be able to read about his grandmother. My sister and I are also using it to collect family stories about her, recipes, and things like that.
Please, please, please feel welcome to read about the experiences I had — especially with individuals at Woodland Terrace — while I attempted to get my mother the care she needed.
My mother did not deserve to die the way she did; she did not deserve to die so young. She did not deserve to miss being a grandmother. I miss her so much, every day, that it is nearly unbearable. And my little sister feels the same way.
I also wanted to comment on something you said in the email (below). You can find on the website dozens and dozens of very well-documented conversations I had with nurses, doctors, and administrators at Woodland Terrace, Halifax Hospital, and multiple other care facilities over the course of 2012 in which they gave me all sorts of information which, now that she is dead and they are worried about a lawsuit, they are claiming they cannot give me / us because of HIPAA. It is insulting and preposterous.
