Hello, Shane,

I’m sure you didn’t know it, but today — August 12 — is actually the anniversary of my mother’s death, so it’s been very difficult for me.

I did have about an hour conversation with Mr. Chiumento last week. He was very nice, but seemed to feel that it is basically pointless for me to pursue this, which was pretty depressing. I realize that nothing may ever come of it, but I don’t feel right just giving up. I know my mom wouldn’t stop fighting for me if the situation was reversed.
