Just before 9 o’clock this morning I received a phone call from Frank Ashton, the attorney Kelly Mathis had asked to help with the investigation of mom’s case. Mr. Ashton and I spoke for just under an hour; I gave him the abridged version of the events leading to mom’s death and he asked many questions. He also asked me to send him a copy of the autopsy report prepared by Dr. Wolf, which he said Mr. Mathis did not give to him.
After the call, I sent him this email:
From: Gagne, David
To: Ashton, Frank
Subject: Kathleen A. Gagne: Autopsy
Sent: October 21, 2013 10:06 AMMr. Ashton,
I’ve just searched my files and I do not have a digital copy of the autopsy.
I will scan and email (and photocopy and postal mail) the autopsy results tomorrow, Tuesday, October 22, 2013.
Thank you,
A few minutes later I sent him this email, too:

Subject: Kathleen A. Gagne: Primary Concerns
Sent: October 21, 2013 10:40 AMMr. Ashton,
By now you should have received an email with your username and password which will allow you access to view kathiegagne.com, the website where I’ve been detailing my mom’s life.
It can be overwhelming, I understand, because I have collected so much information. And I’m also trying to make this a memorial of sorts to my mother so one day her grandchildren will be able to learn more about her.
This is a good place to start:

Thank you sincerely,
Mr. Ashton replied just a short time after that:
