Papa’s funeral parlor in Warwick. My room was the one to the right of the chimney you can see here. Nana and Papa slept in the front room upstairs. The house had a great wrap-around front porch, a huge garage on the left, and a chicken-hut and old-fashioned well in the back. The hall light upstairs.

Mom spent a significant amount of her childhood living in a funeral parlor, just like on the HBO television series “Six Feet Under”.
I have no idea why she thought the lamp in the hall was so important that it warranted its own photo and a comment. I wonder if it was special to her.
