Deeb-Paul and Shannon,
Please feed Shia Khan, Mr. PB, and Paprika twice a day using dry food and one small can of Fancy Feast, splitting it into half for Shia Khan, and approximately one-fourth each for Mr. PB and Paprika. Please be sure there is at least about ½” of dry food in the large green bowl.
Also, feel free to give them treats while you’re playing with them.
I rinse and refill the red water dish twice a day, and I leave it under the cabinet door because Paprika sometimes likes to push it around (with disastrous results). You can also put some water in the small grayish bowl in case the red one gets knocked around….
Shia Khan meds:
As always, Shia Khan gets the small piece of Norvasc in the morning in cheese.
He should not get the Prednisone before at least 7-8 hours have passed according to my vet. He will take the Prednisone wrapped in cheese.
Try to give him the Cosequin on his food. It seems as if he will take it that way.
Please let me know if you notice a significant improvement or worsening of the way he moves on his right paw. I think he’s doing a little better…
Please call me and get him to the vet if he is panting heavily or acts as if he is “out of it,” or in pain. The vet is open until 7:00 p.m. M-F and until about 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Lights, Etc.:
Please leave the front porch light on at all times. Inside the house, it probably makes sense to just leave the television on (no sound) at night. That way it’s not too bright. Please leave the front blinds closed, but open the sliding door verticals every day and close them at night.
The air conditioner needs to run at about 77 degrees, and it may fluctuate. If the house seems really warm, you can hit the down arrow on the thermostat at the end of the hallway once or twice. It should be okay most of the time. Fans are all on.
Please Call Me:
I know it’s a pain, but please at least leave me a message once a day about Shia Khan.
[phone number redacted]THANK YOU BOTH SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!
