“Letters from Mom”

Mom wrote me hundreds of letters and would often send me greeting cards with snipped comics or articles from newspapers or magazines she thought I'd enjoy.

Mom sent the following note inscribed in a slim greeting card. There’s a painting of a parrot-type bird on the front captioned “Thinking of You” and based on the copyright on the back of the card it looks like one that came in a bunch after she’d made a donation to the World Wildlife Fund.

Dear David,

I just thought I would write you a card/ slash letter.

I wish that we could see each other more often. I hope that when you and T      get here we will have plenty of together time.

Just seeing you will be great, and I hope you and T      have a great time here, too.

I’m getting ready to go out. I’m not sure if I can watch the whole game with U          and N   A     and A  .

I’ve been going there a lot. I love spending time with A     who has really become an incredible person.

U          is doing his best to take care of the kids while A   works.

He’s really in bad shape.

Anyway, please plan for some alone time with you and me. I don’t know if Jen will be able to come. She’s looking for a new job. So am I.

All my love,
Mom
