Here is an email I sent to the first lawyer who was helping me deal with things after mom died. Obtaining a copy of her death certificate was — like seemingly everything else — a huge pain:

I blind carbon copied (BCCed) you on an email to Cusack Mortuary regarding acquiring my mother’s death certificate.
I am planning on calling you as soon as I can tomorrow (Wednesday, August 29) morning to discuss the contract / documents you sent.
I also have copies of many of my mother’s medical records, which I will send you tomorrow.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do.
