Here’s yet another picture that I can’t date. I have to assume it’s from the 50s, but that’s about the best I can guess. I wonder what she was thinking, staring off into space like that. Or was she looking at someone else in the room? What in the world is that thing on top of the TV? Where was it taken? Why was she wearing this pretty dress? Are those real pearls? Was having that television a big deal back then? How hideous were those curtains? Who took the picture?
I wish I could pick up the phone and ask her. She’d be so excited to hear my voice, and so happy to tell me the story.

Hi David, what a picture! I believe that was taken in their living room on Lakeside Avenue, I recognize the pattern in the carpet. Can’t imagine why she was so dressed up, but she was obviously a princess to her mom and dad, and if I know her, she didn’t really want to be photographed. It was definitely a big deal to have a TV back then, but no doubt it was black and white, we didn’t have color TV’s until the 60’s. And that thing on top of the TV was a ceramic poodle, all the rage in the 50’s I guess…..So nice to look at these pictures, I’m seeing some of them for the first time!
