“Letters from Mom”

Mom wrote me hundreds of letters and would often send me greeting cards with snipped comics or articles from newspapers or magazines she thought I'd enjoy.

Mom was forever sending me greeting cards with newspaper clippings, often Snoopy comics or other quips from Reader’s Digest or Scientific American that she thought I’d like. The creases in this letter tell me that it was at one point folded into one of those cards, but the card and whatever joke was included are lost.

It’s also funny now to think of how concerned she was about me getting my taxes done correctly every year.

Dear David,

Hi, Love!

I’m usually the last one to get these joke things, but I thought you might get a kick out of it.

Missed talking to you yesterday. I guess I’ll call tonight.

Jenny has her last home basketball game tonight. I wish I had a video camera so I could tape what she does the way I got what you did. Maybe I’ll just take her 35MM.

We’re still planning on coming up for the family weekend. I’m also planning to get my income tax refund before then. Oh, well. I’ll figure it out.

By the way, you said you had more W2’s. Shall I bring the other one and we can get yours done while I’m up there? You might actually get some decent money back, and I’m sure you can use it.

Gotta go – work calls.

I love ya lots!

Mom
