“Letters from Mom”
Mom wrote me hundreds of letters and would often send me greeting cards with snipped comics or articles from newspapers or magazines she thought I'd enjoy.
Mom worked for InterLink Paging in Daytona Beach and got me a job in the Gainesville office while I was at the University of Florida. Starting in my second year, I worked there for 39 hours/week, and after I graduated they asked me to go full time. Mom was very happy about the idea of me having a full-time job (and benefits) and sent me a card with this note inside. Enclosed was a bill for my car insurance.

David,Sorry it took so long to get this to you. If you would like, I can pay it for you as your birthday present. Just let me know & I’ll send a check ASAP.
Hope that thing with the Web Page for your Dad’s friend works out! You could even get referrals.
Best part about being InterLink full time is health insurance, holidays & vacations. Make sure he does it before 6/30 because you will be eligible for 1 week vac. & 5 sick days this year if he does. If not, you have to wait until next year!!!
I love you, always,
Mom
The card has a dog and cat snuggled up to each other on the front and on the reverse is a message about the Humane Society of the United States; I assume she got the card for making a donation.
