On mom’s old computer hard drive, I found a letter she drafted in March of 2006 to cancel her lawn care service. I have no way to know if she ever actually sent it, of course, but I’d bet she did. It’s just a silly little snippet from her life. I can picture her printing it and signing it, folding it and putting it in an envelope; looking for a stamp, dropping it in the mail.
I miss her so much. I can’t believe she spelled discernible incorrectly. She’d be mortified.

To Whom It May Concern:
Please discontinue service as of the last application on February 14, 2006. I have not noticed any discernable improvement in my lawn and will be taking care of it myself.
Enclosed is the payment for February 14 that should leave my balance at zero.
Sincerely,
Kathleen A. Gagne
