I called Detective Whittier of the Deland Police Department just after noon EDT today. I haven’t had any communication with him since last Wednesday, the day before he said he was going to visit Woodland Terrace in an attempt to speak with Dr. Peele in person. I’ve called just about every day since then and left him a voicemail asking for an update, but he hasn’t responded.
I have no idea if he ever made it to the nursing home on Thursday or if he was able to get in touch with Dr. Peele. I don’t know if he’s still actively interested in the case or if it’s been closed. It’s very odd because he seemed to be very invested in my story, even during out last conversation. He didn’t give me any indication that he was going to go on vacation or anything like that.
