In June of 2002, my mother and little sister drove from Florida to Rhode Island for dad’s wedding.

Mom put together a scrapbook of photos from the trip and gave it to me as a Christmas present one year. She spent a good deal of time working on this little project; she used her computer to print captions for each photo and did her best to explain them all.

On the first page of the journal she printed “Star Trek 4 — The Journey Home” and below that, “June 2002 — Love, Mom”.

These entries show photos from that album and the captions she gave them.

Sister Carol Mary Morrison lived with me at St. Patrick’s Convent. She holds a church office at St. Pat’s now and lives in the House of Faith. (The convent was originally called the House of Faith.) Rayleen lives there, too. She’s cool.

“This was an old library that I really, really loved. You had to climb up into a dusty attic to get books. Evelyn lived on Atlantic Avenue, the street to the right.”

Roger Williams Park

Roger Williams Park — I spent a lot of time there and it still looks great. There was a wonderful carousel, a couple of historical museums, and lots of ducks. I spent a lot of time dreaming about being a writer in the two structures pictured here. Evelyn and I wrote about the Beatles and […]
