Set Me Free
from “Mom’s Journals”

May 5, 1970

Pass over to Jordan
Pass over to Israel
Pass over to Jerusalem
Oh, Lord, touch me.

1. Three hours on a wooden tree.
Three days in a cold stone grave
Three women at the open gate
Oh, Lord, touch me.

2. Pentecost in small room
Tongues of fire in a small crowded
room
How they burned in their
hearts
How their hearts must have soared
that day.
Oh, Lord, touch me.

3. Send your Spirit to me, Lord.
Send your Spirit to me, Jesus.
Set a fire burning in my soul.
Oh, Lord, touch me.

4. When you came, I did not know.
When you died, I did not see.
But your fire’s burning in my heart.
Oh, Lord, you set me free.
