I asked my sister if she would do some research into applying for government assistance — e.g. Medicaid, Social Security — for mom. She sent me this email just before the end of the year:

http://www.ssa.gov/pgm/ssi.htmMom has been receiving $1104 a month from Social Security since November 24, 2010. If things go through for disability, she can receive more than that.
So, when you apply for her Social Sec Disability, some of the information should already be in there.Let me know if you need her social security number.
I had already started a Medicaid application, but I will need to grab the login for you, and I don’t have it with me right now.

Love you.
PS In case I had not told you before, I did cancel her landline and cable, so the only monthly bills she has are FPL and rent.
